Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations across multiple sites within the health system.

The role requires ARDMS registration or eligibility, an Associate Degree in medical imaging or related field, and BLS certification, with travel between Marlborough and Nashoba/Groton as needed. Excellent patient care and accuracy are essential. You will document in HIS/RIS/PACS and work under Radiologists in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Level of knowledge equivalent to that gained through an associate degree in medical imaging or health-related field.
• ARDMS registration or eligibility with no restrictions prohibiting work as an ultrasonographer.
• Ability to obtain additional registration in vascular, breast, gyn, abdominal areas.
• BLS certification before end of 90-day probation.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and records appropriate patient information; adjusts imaging procedures for patient size, age, or condition.
• Assists, transfers, and positions patients; selects scan parameters per examination and patient condition.
• Processes and records images per Radiologist protocol; documents work in HIS/RIS/PACS.
• Checks equipment operation; maintains QA/maintenance schedules and keeps rooms stocked.
• Keeps up to date with ultrasonography; attends courses/seminars as needed; participates in professional organizations.
• Maintains yearly competency in Trophon disinfection processes.
• Assists in other area/modalities as needed.
• Travel between Marlborough and Nashoba/Groton for operational support.

Education

Associate Degree in medical imaging or health-related field

ARDMS registration or registry eligible

Additional registration in vascular, breast, GYN, or abdominal

BLS healthcare provider certification
