Job summary

Tek One Solutions is seeking experienced Copper Lead Technicians to lead high-volume structured cabling installation inside a large data center environment in Abernathy, Texas. This role combines hands-on technical knowledge with field leadership; leads will oversee technicians performing cable staging, pulling, routing, dressing, termination, labeling and testing of copper infrastructure.

Travel is 100% required with per diem and approved project expenses reimbursed.

Qualifications

• Data center or mission-critical experience preferred.
• Crew lead, foreman, or field leadership experience.
• Experience with copper cable pulling and termination.
• Experience with patch panels, port assignments, labeling, and testing coordination.
• Ability to read prints and cut sheets.
• Strong organization and communication skills.
• Ability to manage technicians in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Direct copper installation crews across assigned work fronts.
• Coordinate cable staging and row-by-row installation.
• Oversee pulling, routing, dressing, and termination.
• Verify cable IDs, labels, and port assignments.
• Coordinate patch panel and termination work.
• Read prints and cut sheets and communicate assignments to technicians.
• Monitor daily productivity and installation quality.
• Identify constraints affecting crew production.
• Correct workmanship issues before turnover.
• Maintain safety and jobsite organization.

Employment Type: W-2 Contract to Hire
Start: October 12, 2026
Pay: $45/hour, based on experience
Day Shift: 6:00 AM–6:00 PM
Night Shift: 6:00 PM–6:00 AM
Travel: 100% Required

Position Overview

  Per diem and approved project expenses will be reimbursed/provided according to the approved travel package, and authorized travel to and from the project will be reimbursed.

  
  

  Lead technicians may also be required to travel to other project locations before Abernathy for training or deployment support.
