Job summary

Amergis is seeking a Teacher for the Visually Impaired to provide students with learning experiences that foster social, intellectual, and emotional growth in a school setting.

This travel role involves organizing and implementing instructional programs for visually impaired students, enabling them to develop competencies for successful functioning, with weekly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred.
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state regulations.
• One year experience as a teacher for the visually impaired preferred.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• The Teacher for the Visually Impaired provides students with appropriate learning experiences and activities designed to help them in social, intellectual, and emotional growth.
• The Teacher for the Visually Impaired organizes and implements an instructional program for visually impaired students.
• Enables students to develop competencies and skills to function in a successful and positive manner.
