Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for an acute care hospital OR with experience in Orthopedic, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, and Robotics procedures.

The position involves a 9-OR acute care setting, day shift 6:30 AM–5:00 PM, and an on-call rotating schedule. Travel-ready candidates and prior trauma/Level I experience are valued; local candidates within 60 miles may be considered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience as Surgical Technologist with general surgery background.
• Experience in Orthopedic, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology and Robotic-assisted procedures.
• BLS certification is required.
• NBSTSA certification is required (NCCT not accepted).
• License required if applicable.
• Radiation badge provided by the agency.
• Teaching hospital, community hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acute care hospital OR setting with 9 operating rooms.
• Day shift, 4x10 hours (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM).
• On-call one weekday per week on a 6-week rotating schedule.
• Weekend shifts generally not required but may be needed occasionally.
• Floats between service lines within the facility but not to sister facilities.
• Epic charting system preferred.
• Work across surgical specialties including Vascular, Gynecology, Plastics, Neurosurgery, General Surgery, Orthopedic, Urology, ENT, Thoracic, and Robotics with Da Vinci Xi.
• First-time travelers will be considered.
• Previous facility employees must have a 1-year separation before returning in a travel role.
• Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval.
• All time off must be submitted in advance and is subject to facility approval.
• Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis.
• Local radius guideline of 60 miles.
• OR hospital-issued scrubs provided.
• Employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties during hurricane season (June–November).
