Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks a certified Surgical Technologist for a hospital Operating Room assignment requiring 36 months of CST experience, including orthopedic/total joints and proficiency with Mako, Rosa robotics.

The position features a 4x10 schedule (6:30am starts), 40 hours/week, on-call nights and some weekend rotations, plus travel allowances and comprehensive benefits. First-time travelers are not considered; local residents within 50 miles will not be eligible.

Qualifications

• NBSTSA certification is required.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC is required.
• Minimum 36 months of CST/Surgical Tech experience is required.
• Proficiency in orthopedic surgery including total joints procedures is required.
• General surgery experience is required.
• Proficiency with Mako and/or Rosa robotics is required.
• DaVinci robotics experience is highly preferred.
• A professional reference from a supervisor or manager within the past 24 months is preferred.
• Licensing may be required if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Operate in a 14-bed OR unit.
• Four 10-hour day shifts beginning at 6:30am with 40 hrs/week and a rotating day off.
• Block scheduling requests are not accommodated.
• Holiday rotation is required.
• On-call 1 night per week and up to 1 weekend per month.
• Uses DaVinci Xi, Mako, and Rosa robotics equipment.
• Epic EMR system is used.
• Support surgical procedures in a fast-paced OR setting.
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role.
• Travelers must work 2 of 3 winter holidays (Christmas, New Year’s, or Thanksgiving).
• Limited to 1 day off request during late November and winter holiday blackout periods.
• Past UnityPoint Health employees are restricted from working travel assignments at other UPH facilities within 12 months.
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered local.
