Job summary

Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel Surgical Technician for an assignment in Irving, Texas. The role supports the surgical team by preparing instruments, equipment, supplies, and the OR environment while maintaining sterile technique and performing counts under RN supervision.

The position requires BLS, a CAAHEP-accredited surgical tech program or military training, and at least 2 years of labor and delivery OR experience.

Qualifications

• BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited surgical technology program or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a labor and delivery unit.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room and sterile instrument tables.
• Verify instrument functionality and completeness; perform surgical counts.
• Anticipate surgeon and team needs and assist with positioning, draping, and specimen handling.
• Clean and decontaminate instruments and prepare equipment for sterilization.
• Follow infection control, perioperative, and safety guidelines.
