Job summary

American Traveler seeks a Surgical Technologist for a hospital surgical department in Iowa. This full-time role offers a day shift, Monday through Friday, 6:30am to 3pm, with occasional on-call until 7pm and no weekend shifts.

The ideal candidate will graduate from a CAAHEP-accredited program and hold BLS and ACLS certifications; license if applicable. Expect immunizations, background checks, drug screen, and CareLearning modules prior to start.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification.
• License required if applicable.
• Resume and two recent employment references required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based surgical technology position.
• Full-time day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 6:30am to 3pm.
• Occasional on-call duty until 7pm with no overnight call.
• No weekend shifts required.
• Provide surgical technician support in the surgical area in accordance with hospital and departmental standards.
• Deliver patient care consistent with facility policies and procedures.
• Complete required immunizations including MMR, Varicella, Polio, Hepatitis B, TDaP, and flu vaccination during flu season.
• Complete TB testing (2-step Mantoux or QuantiFERON Gold) and provide proof of physical exam within 1 year of start.
• Pass a 10-panel drug screen and respiratory fit test prior to start.
• Complete criminal background check and sex offender registry check within 30 days of start.
• Complete Iowa Mandatory Reporter certification and required CareLearning education modules prior to start.
