Job summary

Franciscan Health Crown Point in Crown Point, IN seeks a Travel Surgical Technologist (PRN) to support perioperative services. You will prepare patients, equipment, and the operating room, provide instrument assistance to surgeons, and monitor supplies during procedures.

This role requires at least 1 year of CST experience, BLS, and NBSTSA certification; travel up to 75% across Northern Indiana regions, with competitive pay and a flexible schedule to support work-life balance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Arrange instrument trays, prepare sterile drapes and solutions, and help the surgical team put on caps, gowns, and gloves.
• Assist with prep of patients as needed.
• Pass instruments to surgeons and surgical assistants.
• May assist with sponge, needle, and other supply counts to track materials used in surgery.
• May operate suction, diagnostic, and sterilizing equipment, and package specimens for laboratory analysis.

The Franciscan Travel Surgical Technologist performs various tasks supporting perioperative services. This position assists multiple disciplines of an operating room by preparing patients, equipment, and the environment for procedures. This position, also, provides technical assistance to surgeons by anticipating instruments during surgical procedures. The Traveler Surgical Technologist measures and passes medications, hemostatic agents, and other solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Required High School Diploma/GED

• 1 year Surgery Preferred

• Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
