Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks a Surgical Technologist with Labor & Delivery experience for a 12-hour night shift in a busy Labor-Delivery-Recovery unit. The role requires scrubbing for C-sections, tubals, and hysterectomies, and navigating postpartum procedures.

Two years of L&D surgical tech experience and BLS certification are required; NBSTSA/NCCT certification preferred. No local candidates within 50 miles; travel staff eligible for benefits and holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery surgical technology experience.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• NBSTSA or NCCT certification preferred; license as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Labor-Delivery-Recovery unit with 2 ORs handling ~300 babies per month.
• 12-hour night shift schedule, 7:00 pm–7:30 am, 3 shifts weekly.
• Scrubs for C-sections, tubals, hysterectomies.
• Understand D&C procedures and MTP during emergency postpartum hemorrhages.
• Work 2 major holidays and 1 minor holiday; travel staff only.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Labor-Delivery-Recovery unit with 2 ORs delivering approximately 300 babies per month
• 12-hour night shift schedule, varying between 7p-7:30a, 3 shifts per week
• Scrubs for C-sections, tubals, and hysterectomies
• Involves understanding of D&C procedures and MTP process during emergency post-partum hemorrhages
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day) and 1 minor holiday (day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve)
• No local candidates considered within 50 miles of the facility
• Returning staff who previously worked as permanent employees must have a 2-year break before returning as travelers
• RTO must be requested upfront prior to offer and cannot be requested afterward
