Job summary

Newsandtribune seeks a CVOR Surgical Technologist with at least 1 year of experience for a day shift in an acute care hospital operating room in Silver Spring, MD.

The role requires NBSTSA or TS-C certification, CST certification, BLS, and an active Maryland or Compact license. Travel not required. Cerner charting is used. On-call and weekend coverage are required. Scrubs provided; tobacco-free facility.

Responsibilities

• Operate in CVOR, General OR and Hybrid OR settings in acute care hospital.
• Provide care for adults, adolescents, and geriatrics with cardiovascular cases preferred.
• Manage day shift 4x10 hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday with varying days off.
• Participate in 24-hour on-call 2–3 calls per week and at least 1 weekend per month.

American Traveler seeks a CVOR Surgical Technologist with at least 1 year of experience and NBSTSA or TS-C certification for a day-shift position in an acute care hospital's operating room.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience required
• BLS certification required
• NBSTSA or TS-C certification required (NCCT not accepted)
• CST certification required
• License required if applicable
• Active Maryland or Compact license required and in hand at time of consideration
• Prior scrub experience required
• Experience with vascular procedures including arteriovenous fistula repair required
• Experience with carotid angioplasty and femoral popliteal bypass graft preferred
• Proficiency in aseptic technique, isolation precautions/PPE, sharps safety, specimen handling/labeling, and universal protocol time-out procedures
• Two supervisor references required for consideration
• Prior travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted

Responsibilities

• Acute care hospital operating room with 12 ORs
• CVOR, General OR, and Hybrid OR settings
• Patient population includes adults, adolescents, and geriatrics for general and neuro surgery, with cardiovascular cases preferred
• Cardiovascular procedures may include CABG, mitral valve replacement, pericardial window, and TAVR
• Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday with varying day off
• On-call requirement of 2-3 calls per week and at least 1 weekend per month (24-hour Saturday and Sunday coverage)
• Cerner charting system used
• No floating to sister facilities required
• Block schedule accommodations available
• Must be available to work Christmas week
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Tobacco-free facility; candidates must be nicotine-free, as a positive nicotine screen will result in cancellation
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year prior to consideration
• RTO limited to 1 request
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate with no mile radius restriction
• No floating outside of scope required
