Responsibilities

• Support neuro, plastics, orthopedic, podiatry, and pain management surgical cases as a first assistant.
• Assist with spinal fusion, laminectomy, discectomy, ALIF, XLIF, and anterior cervical fusion.
• 4x10 day/evening shift schedule (7:00-17:30 or 9:00-19:30).
• 1:1 patient ratio; call 4-6 weekdays; weekends 3-5 days in six weeks.
• Maintain sterile technique and infection control; PPE usage; holiday coverage as needed.

Requirements

• BLS and NBSTSA certification required
• License required if applicable
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years
• Community hospital experience required
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Neuro and plastics surgical experience required
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• Skilled in surgical first assist duties including suturing all wound layers, tying/ligating vessels, and wound dressing
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, laser safety, and sterilization/disinfection protocols

Responsibilities

• Orthopedic service line specializing in neuro spine, podiatry, ortho and pain cases
• 4x10 day/evening shift schedule (7:00-17:30 or 9:00-19:30)
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Call requirement of 4-6 weekdays
• Weekend requirement of 3-5 days within a six-week period
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Support neuro, plastics, orthopedic, podiatry, and pain management surgical cases as a first assistant
• Assist with procedures such as spinal fusion, laminectomy/discectomy, ALIF, XLIF, and anterior cervical fusion
• Perform suturing of muscle and fascia layers and tie/ligate clamped vessels or tissues
• Apply wound dressings including liquid or spray occlusive types
• Maintain strict infection control and sterile technique throughout procedures
• Flu vaccine required for all employees at this facility
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
• No more than 7 days of requested time off permitted per 13-week contract, with none allowed during the first two weeks
• Previous employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning
