Job summary

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with strong orthopedic experience for a hospital OR position on a day shift schedule.

Position requires 18+ months experience, BLS, and NBSTSA/NCCT certifications as noted. Travel allowed; on-site duties include work across ortho and multiple surgical specialties with a 4x10 day shift.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months experience required, 2 years preferred.
• Strong orthopedic surgery experience required.
• BLS certification from AHA or American Red Cross.
• NBSTSA certification preferred, NCCT also accepted.
• License required if applicable.
• Charting system experience required.
• One professional reference from a direct supervisor, ANM, or director in the specialty applying for is required.

Responsibilities

• Hospital Surgical Services/OR department.
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
• May float within scope to sister facilities as needed.
• On-call and weekend requirements to be discussed during interview.
• Works across multiple specialties including ortho, general surgery, vascular, ENT, gynecology, neuro, ophthalmology, urology, and robotics.
• First-time travelers accepted.
• Floating to sister facilities within scope required.
• Locals accepted at the same bill rate.
• All RTO must be discussed during interview and submitted upfront; requests added later are unlikely to be approved.
• Travelers expected to work every other holiday.
• Facility is smoke and nicotine free; negative 10-panel drug screen plus nicotine (cotinine) test required.
• COVID-19 and flu vaccines required, with medical/religious exemptions only.
• Time-sensitive training modules must be completed promptly once confirmed for the assignment.
• EKG and pharmacology tests required during orientation, with a maximum of 2 attempts each and no remediation.
• Permanent and per diem staff cannot return to this health system for 1 year from their previous end date.
