American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for an Obstetrics Acute unit, requiring EPIC experience and CST certification.

Responsibilities include assisting with procedures, instrument handling, and room turnover on a 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 3x12 hour shift schedule. Travelers may float to Bakersfield; benefits include housing allowance, day-1 insurance, and licensure reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certificate in Surgical Technology is required.
• CST or TS-C certification required.
• NBSTSA or AST certification required.
• Recent acute care experience within the last 3 months is required.
• License required if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in Obstetrics Acute unit procedures and patient care.
• Handle instruments, supplies and equipment during surgeries.
• Verify procedures with consent forms and prepare the patient for OR.
• Pass instruments and anticipate surgeon needs during procedures.
• Perform sponge and instrument counts with circulator.
• Prepare sterile dressings and secure them after incision closure.
• Set up sterile tables and assist with draping.
• Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization and turnover.
• Adhere to vaccination requirements; exemptions available.

• Associate Degree or Certificate of Program Completion in Surgical Technology required
• Certified Surgery Technician (CST) or Tech in Surgery TS-C (NCCT) certification required
• Certification through NBSTSA or AST required
• BLS certification preferred
• Relevant acute care experience preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in specialty, or 3 years for OR positions
• Recent experience in the specialty within the last 3 months required
• License required if applicable

Responsibilities

• Obstetrics Acute unit within a community and regional teaching hospital
• Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM, 3x12 hour shifts
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Floating to Bakersfield required as needed
• Facilitate physician performance of invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures
• Handle instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgical procedures
• Verify surgery with consent forms and prepare patient for the operating room
• Pass instruments and anticipate surgeon's needs during procedures
• Perform sponge and instrument counts with the circulator before and after procedures
• Prepare sterile dressings and secure them after incision closure
• Set up sterile tables and assist with draping the sterile field
• Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization and assist with room turnover
• Required vaccinations are a condition of employment, with medical and religious exemptions available
• Candidates with more than 5 days of requested RTO will be automatically declined
• Accepts local candidates with no radius rule; local rates are the same as travel rates
