Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Speech-Language Pathologist for an acute care assignment in Sweetwater, TX. The role requires evaluating patients with speech, voice, or swallowing impairments and developing plans of care for a diverse population.

Requirements include BLS and ASHA-SLP certification with state licensure; 1 year experience preferred, 6 months may be considered. Travel, 40 hours per week, 8-hour day shifts, 13 weeks. Benefits and paid time off are included.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience preferred; 6 months may be accepted for exceptional candidates.
• Must have BLS and ASHA-SLP National Certification with state licensing.
• Must be able to stand/walk for long periods and have knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, treat, and prevent speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
• Create treatment plans to meet individual patient needs.
• Perform screenings to detect voice or speech disorders.
• Educate patients and families about speech disorders and causes.
• Report progress to families, teachers, or medical professionals.
• Provide timely documentation following state/insurance guidelines.
