Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Speech-Language Pathologist for a travel job in Childress, Texas. The role involves assessing and treating speech, voice, and swallowing impairments in the acute care setting, with a plan of care for diverse patient populations.

The SLP should have at least 6 months of experience (exception 6 months for an exceptional candidate) and must hold BLS and ASHA-SLP national certification with state licensing.

Qualifications

• Must have 6 months of experience; new grads encouraged to apply.
• Must have BLS and ASHA-SLP National Certification with state-specific licensing.
• SLP should be able to stand and walk for long periods; knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
• BLS, ASHA, 2 Years* Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, treat, and prevent speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
• Create treatment and therapy plans to suit individualized needs.
• Perform screenings to detect voice or speech disorders.
• Educate patients and families about speech disorders and causes.
• Report progress to appropriate parties and maintain documentation.
