Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Speech Language Pathologist for an 8-week travel assignment in Cumberland, Maryland. The role entails evaluating and treating patients with speech, voice, or swallowing impairments in an acute care setting, with a 36-hour work week and 12-hour rotating shifts.

The ideal candidate has 1 year of experience (6 months may be acceptable for exceptional candidates), BLS, and ASHA-SLP certification with state licensing. New grads are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience preferred; exceptional candidate with 6 months may be accepted.
• Must have BLS and ASHA-SLP National Certification with state licensing.
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods; knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, treat, and prevent speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
• Create treatment and therapy plans for diverse patient populations.
• Perform screenings to detect voice or speech disorders.
• Educate patients and families about speech disorders and causes.
• Report progress and current status to appropriate parties (families, teachers, or medical professionals).
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state/insurance guidelines.
