Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years as radiologic technologist or 1 year in Special Procedures/Vascular Interventional Radiology
• Neuro experience required
• Graduate of an accredited Allied Health program
• ARRT Radiography (R) certification required
• BLS certification required
• SCRQSA Radiographer Certification required
• Active SC or compact license if applicable
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
• Knowledge of OSHA, DHEC, FDA, and TJC standards
• Ability to operate Special Procedures equipment

Responsibilities

• Perform Special Procedures exams under medical supervision of certified radiologists
• Assist radiologists during procedures as needed
• Supervise and assist in clinical education of student Radiologic Technologists
• Instruct and prepare patients regarding imaging procedures and assist with informed consent
• Communicate with Radiologists and family members regarding procedures and discharge instructions
• Ensure accurate entry of orders, diagnosis, and clinical history into the computer system
• Follow radiation safety protocols in(ALARA) accordance with DHEC/TJC guidelines
• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and work-related information
• Demonstrate flexibility, accountability, and a team-player attitude within Imaging Department

• Works in the Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab
• Monday-Friday schedule, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• No call, weekend, or holiday requirements
• 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week
• Uses Cerner for charting
• May float to a sister hospital nearby

Requirements

• Knowledge of OSHA, DHEC, FDA, and TJC standards and regulations
• Ability to safely operate Special Procedures and processing equipment

Additional Information

• Perform Special Procedures exams under medical supervision of certified radiologists, producing diagnostic images for interpretation
• Assist radiologists during procedures as needed
• Supervise and assist in clinical education of student Radiologic Technologists
• Instruct and prepare patients regarding imaging procedures and assist with informed consent
• Communicate with Radiologists and family members regarding procedures and discharge instructions
• Ensure accurate entry of orders, diagnosis, and clinical history into the computer system
• Follow radiation safety protocols in accordance with ALARA principles and DHEC/TJC guidelines

• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Travelers may stay on assignment up to one calendar year from initial start date, requiring a 30-60 day break before starting a new assignment
