American Traveler is seeking a travel Special Procedures Technologist in Asheville, North Carolina for a 13‑week interventional radiology assignment. The role features a 5x8 schedule, dayshift, 40 hours per week, starting July 6, 2026, with on-site work in the IR unit.

Ideal candidates have IR and neurointerventional experience, scrub and circulate skills, and BLS certification. Moderate sedation proficiency and licensing as applicable are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of Interventional Radiology experience.
• Previous IR experience (scrub and circulate) required.
• Previous neurointerventional Radiology experience (scrub and circulate) required.
• Moderate sedation experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• License required if applicable.
• No gaps in work history equal to 90 days or more in the past 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform dialysis access work (permacaths, fistulagrams) and related procedures as listed.
• Perform cerebral arteriograms, coilings, pipelines, mechanical thrombectomies, and vertebroplasties.
• Ideal candidates are flexible and strong team players.
• Hospital-provided scrubs will be supplied.
• Local 50 mile radius rule applies; local candidates will not be considered.

Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with previous IR and neurointerventional radiology experience for a position requiring moderate sedation proficiency.

Details

• Interventional Radiology unit with 2 single plane (GE) rooms and 2 biplane (Philips) rooms, plus one Invasive CT scanner
• Day shift staffing includes 2 techs per room with 1 nurse per room; night shift includes 1 tech and 1 RN onsite
• 1:1 patient ratios
• Uses Cerner (Radnet) EMR
• Shift hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• Weekend rotation every 7th weekend
• One night of secondary on-call per week
• May float to VOR area

Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of experience required
• Previous Interventional Radiology experience (scrub and circulate) required
• Previous neurointerventional Radiology experience (scrub and circulate) required
• BLS certification required
• Vascular OR experience, Cath Lab experience, and VI Registration preferred
• Moderate sedation experience required
• License required if applicable
• No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more in the past 12 months

Additional Information
