Job summary

HealthForce Healthcare seeks an Ultrasound Technologist (Sonographer) for a 13-week contract in Hilo, Hawaii, starting 10/26/2026. The role includes abdominal, gynecologic, obstetric, neonatal imaging and interventional procedures, with rotating shifts in a hospital setting.

The position requires ARDMS and BLS, at least 3 years of acute hospital experience, and the ability to float to other units. Pre-start health appointment is required; travel and onboarding support are provided.

Qualifications

• ARDMS certification (AB, OB, RVT).
• Active BLS – American Heart Association.
• Minimum 3 years of acute hospital experience as a full-time sonographer.
• Ability to float to other units/departments as needed.
• Must arrive the Thursday before start to complete employee health appointment.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive ultrasound examinations of the abdomen (Aorta, IVC, liver, biliary system, pancreas, spleen, kidneys).
• Conduct gynecologic and obstetric imaging (including amniocentesis, complications, biophysical profile, gestational age, placental grading, IUGR).
• Perform interventional procedures (aspirations, biopsies, drainage, intraoperative ultrasound).
• Neonatal head imaging for congenital anomalies and imaging of superficial structures; vascular studies.
• Operate Canon i700; document findings in EMR (Meditech) and archive in PACS (Fuji Synapse).
• Collaborate with radiology and other clinical teams; float to other units as required.
