Healthforce in Mount Olive, NC is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for an acute care assignment in a corrections facility. The 13-week contract runs with guaranteed hours and a 5x8 shift from 08:00 to 16:30, starting 11/30/2026.

The role focuses on assessment and treatment of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing needs in an acute care context. Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team is essential, along with consistent documentation and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Active licensure to practice Speech-Language Pathology in the United States.
• Ability to work in a correctional healthcare environment.
• Strong communication and documentation skills; team-oriented.
• Flexible to a 13-week assignment with guaranteed hours.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat speech, language, communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing needs for individuals in an acute care context within a corrections setting.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans; monitor progress and modify plans as needed to meet goals.
• Deliver evidence-based therapy through one-on-one sessions and, when appropriate, small group sessions; document outcomes and progress.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including nursing, physicians, case management, and other therapists to coordinate care and discharge planning.
• Complete timely documentation in patient records, ensure compliance with facility policies, infection control, and safety standards.
