Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least 2 years of experience for a night shift hospital position in North Carolina.

The role requires NBRC RRT, BLS, ACLS and NRP certifications and offers a comprehensive benefits package. You will work in a hospital respiratory care unit on a night schedule, performing intubations, ventilator management, ABG evaluations, and patient education as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Active NBRC RRT credential required.
• Current NC RCP license required if applicable.
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience required.
• PALS certification preferred.
• Experience in adult critical care and pediatric/neonatal care settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital respiratory care unit.
• Night shift schedule with 3 shifts per week at 12 hours per shift.
• Performs intubations, ventilator management, and airway management for critical care patients.
• Conducts arterial blood gas evaluations and adjusts respiratory equipment parameters accordingly.
• Utilizes PRVC ventilator modes.
• Administers respiratory care under physician direction in collaboration with a care team.
• Educates patients on bronchodilator usage, CPAP equipment, COPD management, and asthma control.
• Administers aerosol medications, oxygen therapy, and other standard respiratory care components.
• Monitors intubated patients and conducts spontaneous breathing trials for weaning.
• Tests equipment and guides patients through breathing exercises.
