Job summary

Focus Staff is seeking a traveling First Assist RN (RNFA) to support surgeons in Rancho Mirage, CA. This contract position runs for 13 weeks with a 4x10 shift pattern, offering benefits and licensing reimbursement to the right candidate.

The ideal candidate has a BSN, BLS, and First Assist RN certification, plus perioperative nursing experience in the OR. Excellent communication and rapid decision-making are essential.

Qualifications

• AHA BLS certification required.
• BSN from accredited nursing program and proper licensure.
• First Assist RN certification and perioperative nursing certification.
• Operating room experience required; at least 2 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon in general and specialized surgeries.
• Prepare patients for surgery and ensure sterile field.
• Provide patient care and support during perioperative period.
• Administer medications and monitor vitals intraoperatively.
• Control bleeding, suture incisions, and drape as needed.
• Position patient on operating table and prep equipment.
• Educate patient and family on operation and aftercare.
• Perform post-operative assessments and monitoring.

We currently have a client in Rancho Mirage, CA looking for a Travel RNFA - First Assist RN Registered Nurse! Focus Staff is seeking a traveling First Assist RN to assist and work alongside a surgeon during preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care.

Contract Assignment – 13 Weeks (Temporary) Shift: 4x10 Days

Requirements
