Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a highly skilled Stepdown RN for night shifts on a telemetry unit. Eligible candidates hold an NC or Compact RN license and possess 2+ years in telemetry with current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Epic EMR experience is required, plus the ability to pass an onsite EKG/Telemetry exam. Responsibilities include care for stepdown telemetry and orthopedic patients, with a 1:4–5 patient ratio and 3x12-hour night shifts.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in NC or Compact required.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience including telemetry experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Must pass an EKG/Telemetry exam onsite.
• Flu vaccination required without exemptions.

Responsibilities

• Care for stepdown MS-Telemetry patients (neurological, respiratory, genitourinary conditions).
• Patient ratio 1:4–5; 3x12-hour nights (19:00–07:30).
• Open to local candidates within 75 miles at reduced rate.
• Epic charting is used; bi-weekly orientation schedule.

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown RN for a night-shift telemetry unit requiring 2+ years of telemetry experience and an NC or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required in hand
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience including telemetry experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass an EKG/Telemetry exam onsite
• Flu vaccination required with no exemptions or declinations accepted
• Skills in IV therapy, central/PICC line management, blood product administration, and cardiac drip management required
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management required
• Experience with wound care, isolation precautions, and insulin drip titration required

Responsibilities

• Stepdown/MS-Tele unit setting
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5
• 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00-7:30), full time
• Every other weekend required
• One major holiday shift required
• Epic charting system used
• Bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Care for medical-surgical telemetry and orthopedic patients, including those with neurological, respiratory, and genitourinary conditions
• Galaxy Blue or Royal Blue scrubs required
• No blocked scheduling permitted
• Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced rate
• Previous permanent employment with the health system must not have occurred within the past 6 months
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on unit requirements
