Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med Surg Telemetry assignment in Texas. The 13-week night shift (18:45–07:15) on a 29-bed Med Surg unit uses Epic charting and requires an active TX or compact RN license and at least one year of relevant experience.

BLS is required; ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale are preferred. Local candidates may have a reduced rate under the radius rule. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply; benefits include health insurance, 401(k), and weekly payroll.

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year RN experience required.
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start.

Responsibilities

• 29-bed Med Surg unit with cardiac population and telemetry monitoring.
• 13-week assignment with a night shift schedule from 18:45 to 07:15.
• Uses Epic charting system.
• Provide direct nursing care following established policies and protocols.
• Coordinate patient care across disciplines and manage discharge planning.
• Work independently with strong critical thinking and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Navy or maroon scrubs required.
• Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate depending on distance from the facility.
