Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Clinical Decisions Unit RN with telemetry experience for a night shift travel assignment requiring WV or Compact RN licensure.

The role covers cardiac telemetry, stroke care, and rapid-response duties on a Med-Surg Telemetry unit, with Cerner charting and a 7:00 PM–7:30 AM schedule. Open to travelers living >100 miles away; travel benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Active WV or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted for consideration.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required.
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, and stroke/CVA care required.
• Experience with IV starts, blood product administration, and oxygen therapy required.
• Experience with rapid-response/code situations required.
• Minimum 2 Manager and/or Charge Nurse references from the past 2 years required.
• SSN and DOB required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Decision Unit / Med-Surg Telemetry setting
• Patient population includes cardiac, CHF, COPD, stroke, chest pain, orthopedic surgeries, EENT patients
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Floating may be required
• Charting system is Cerner
• Orientation held every other Monday
• Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid-response/code teams
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; 75-100 miles considered case-by-case at same rate
• Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from last permanent employment date before returning as a traveler
• Current Vandalia Health System employees are not eligible for travel contracts
• Flu vaccine required; medical exemptions considered with physician note
