Job summary

American Traveler Staffing Professionals is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with a cardiac focus. The role requires cardiovascular experience and NM or compact RN license.

The 55-bed unit operates in a heart hospital setting with a 1:4 patient ratio. Night shifts are 4x12 hours with rotating weekend coverage and no on-call requirements.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in NM or Compact required; pending compact accepted if obtained prior to start.
• BLS and ACLS certification required; NIHSS and CPI preferred.
• Cardiovascular experience is required; prior PCU telemetry experience is a plus.
• 2 years of RN experience preferred; 1+ year considered for travel assignments.
• Epic charting experience preferred; strong telemetry monitoring skills needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for cardiac stepdown patients including monitoring, medication administration, and post-procedural care.
• Perform cardiovascular monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and telemetry oversight.
• Floating to related units as needed, with no on-call requirements.

Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) role in a cardiac stepdown unit, requiring cardiovascular experience and NM or compact RN license.

Details

• Cardiac stepdown unit located within a Heart Hospital with a significant cardiac patient population
• 55-bed unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 18:30-07:00) with option of 36 or 48 hours weekly
• Rotating weekend coverage as needed
• Floating required to like units within scope based on facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) required, pending compact accepted if obtained prior to start
• BLS and ACLS certification required; NIHSS and CPI preferred
• 2 years of RN experience preferred, will consider 1+ years
• Cardiovascular experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and telemetry monitoring required
• Experience with cardiac drip management and heparin protocols
• Experience with central and peripheral line care, IV therapy, and phlebotomy
• Preferred skills include chest tube management, BiPAP/CPAP, wound care, IV insulin protocols, and pre/post cardiac cath and surgery care

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for cardiac stepdown patients including monitoring, medication administration, and post-procedural care
• Brief unit orientation provided for floating assignments
• Scrub color: any (no logos)
• First-time travelers accepted
• Previous staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; locals not accepted
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
