Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU travel assignment in Illinois. You will provide care for post-surgical, trauma, and critical patients in a 13-bed ICU with EPIC EMR. Expect 36 hours per week, day shifts, 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratios, and floating to stepdown or general medicine as needed.

Active IL RN license, BLS/ACLS, and ICU/Level I trauma experience are required. Local candidates within 50 miles receive a reduced local rate; start date around Sep 28, 2026, for

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required (or proof of application).
• BLS and ACLS certification (AHA) required.
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience.
• Level I trauma center and ICU experience required.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Nurse to patient ratios typically 1:2, occasionally 1:1 or 1:3.
• Titrate drips including pressors, sedation, paralytics, and insulin.
• Read and interpret telemetry strips.
• Floating to lower levels of care with a full patient assignment.
• No call or standby requirement.
