Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU night shift position in Illinois. Active IL RN licensure and 2+ years SICU experience are required. Position involves 12-hour nights, 36 hours weekly, and weekend/holiday rotations, with potential cross-campus float and Epic EMR usage.

Candidates should hold BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, a valid driver's license, and be able to provide supervisory references. Travel-friendly perked role with housing and licensure support available.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required at time of acceptance.
• IL license or compact IA license must be applied for if not active.
• Minimum 2 years SICU experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Epic EMR experience.
• Experience with titratable sedation, titratable pressors, titratable insulin, and Heparin.
• Must be comfortable floating across campuses.
• Driver's license required for consideration.
• One supervisory reference within the last 2 years.
• Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission.

Responsibilities

• SICU unit within a Level 1 trauma center.
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week.
• Weekend rotation every third weekend, including holiday rotation.
• No on-call requirements.
• May be required to float across local campuses within the same discipline.
• Uses Epic EMR system.
• Contribute professional and clinical knowledge as part of an interdisciplinary care team for SICU patients.
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license address.
• Cannot have been employed by the facility's health system within the past 12 months.
• Required to work 1-2 of the 3 summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day).
• At least one completed travel contract is preferred but not required.
