Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a Level 1 Trauma Center in Illinois. Requires active IL RN license and a minimum of 2 years in Emergency Department care, with evening shift availability.

Essential certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC. EPIC EMR experience is required; 1 professional reference within the last year is necessary. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Minimum 1 professional reference within last year from Supervisor/Manager/Director/Charge RN
• Candidate DOB and last 4 of SSN required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Level 1 Trauma Center with 273 beds and ED with 44 rooms
• Emergency Department handles neonates to geriatrics; adult patient load around 150 per day
• Pediatric transfers go to partner facilities; no inpatient pediatric units
• Trauma, stroke, DKA, and other ED presentations managed
• RN-to-patient ratio typically 1:4–5 daytime; up to 1:6 at night
• 12-hour evening shifts from 11:00 to 11:00; 36 hours/week
• Weekend rotation every other weekend; no on-call and no floating
• Central tele monitoring; EPIC EMR used across unit
• ED operations include telemetry, phlebotomy, technicians, and team of RNs/physicians
• Orientation includes educator meeting, badge, hospital tour, and shadowing
