Job summary

Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Stepdown for a travel assignment in Kearney, Nebraska. Night shifts are 12 hours, with a schedule of 48 hours per week for 18 weeks in a 40-bed adult step-down unit.

You will provide care for adults with cardiac, vascular, sepsis, stroke, renal, and post‑operative needs, interpret telemetry, titrate infusion drips, and assist with vents or respiratory support. Travel benefits include housing options, health insurance, and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Must have valid driver’s license and reside within 50 miles.
• Preferred: at least 2 years of relevant clinical experience.
• Ability to read telemetry strips.
• Willingness to float to Med-Surg or ICU as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in a 40-bed adult step-down unit.
• Titrate and troubleshoot infusion drips (e.g., Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, insulin).
• Interpret telemetry strips and coordinate with charge nurses.
• Assist with equipment such as vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and High Flow.
• Maintain patient safety and effective communication in a multicultural unit.
• Float to related units as needed.
