Job summary
Cross Country Nurses in Peoria, IL is seeking a travel RN for a Step Down unit. The position runs 12-hour nights with a minimum of 36 hours per week and a 13-week assignment start 9/14/2026, ending 12/14/2026.
The RN will manage ventilator and trach care, titration of infusions, and ECG interpretation while collaborating with charge nurses and supervisors.
Applicants must hold an Illinois RN license, have a Bachelor’s degree, and possess BLS; ACLS is recommended.
Qualifications
- Active Illinois nursing license or confirmation that licensure is in process.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- At least 1 year of RN experience in Step Down/ICU/Intermediate care.
- BLS certification required; ACLS recommended.
- Experience with trach and vent management and infusions/titration.
- Ability to read bedside monitors and ECG strips.
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 3:1 or 2:1.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care to Step Down patients in an acute care setting.
- Manage ventilators and trach care, including titrating infusions.
- Monitor patients and interpret ECGs; collaborate with care team.
- Coordinate with charge nurses and house supervisors to ensure safe care.
