Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Stepdown for a travel nursing job in Peoria, Illinois. The position is in a Step Down Unit with 12-hour night shifts and a 13-week duration, starting with an RN start date around 10/05/2026.

The role requires ICU/intermediate care experience, ventilator management, trach care, and infusion titration, in a high-acuity acute care setting. The assignment will involve supervising and collaborating with charge nurses, cross-covering multiple units if

Qualifications

• Active Illinois nursing license or in-process licensure.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• At least 1 year RN experience in Step Down/ICU/Intermediate care.
• BLS certification; ACLS recommended.
• ICU/Intermediate experience with 3:1 or 2:1 patient ratio.
• Experience with trach and vent management and titrating infusions.
• Reading bedside monitors and interpreting ECG strips.
• Ability to collaborate with charge nurses and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients with medical, neuro, and surgical conditions.
• Manage trach and ventilator care and titrate infusions.
• Monitor patients using bedside monitors and ECG interpretation.
• Collaborate with charge nurses and house supervisors.
