Job summary

UPMC System Float Team seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to join our internal travel staffing program. As a System Float Nurse, you will rotate to a new UPMC facility about every six weeks, delivering bedside care across Pennsylvania, New York, and Western Maryland while broadening your clinical skills and professional network.

We offer guaranteed hours, a competitive hourly rate with shift differentials, travel allowances for qualifying assignments, and a comprehensive benefits package

Qualifications

• Licensed RN with Medical-Surgical proficiency.
• Ability to rotate to multiple UPMC facilities.
• Strong clinical judgment and patient-care skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care in assigned UPMC facilities and units.
• Rotate assignments approximately every six weeks, with potential redeployment based on needs.
• Apply strong critical thinking, clinical judgment, and problem-solving in patient care.
• Communicate patient status and changes clearly with physicians and healthcare team.
• Follow hospital policies, infection control, and confidentiality requirements.
• Build effective working relationships across diverse clinical environments and care teams.
• Participate in patient education, discharge planning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and ongoing professional development.
