American Traveler is hiring a Rehab RN for a 13-week night shift assignment in Missouri. Requires BSN, MO or Compact RN license, and at least 2 years of nursing experience.

The role involves inpatient ARU care for post‑acute patients, with day/night rotations, and opportunities for travel nursing rewards. BLS/NIHSS required; ACLS preferred, with EPIC charting used for documentation.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Missouri or Compact state in hand before start.
• BSN required.
• BLS and NIHSS required; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
• Telemetry/basic EKG exam with 80%+ (2 attempts allowed).
• IV insertions and lab draws performed by nurse.
• Experience with IV therapy, ortho care, neuro assessments, and cardiac monitoring preferred.
• Travel nursing experience preferred.
• EPIC charting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient ARU care for patients post-acute care requiring therapy.
• Patients include post-surgical, post-stroke, CHF, total joints, fractures, and general med‑surg.
• Non-telemetry unit; IVs and labs may be required.
• Patient ratios 1:5 days and 1:5–6 nights.
• Night shift 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM.
• Every third weekend with holiday blocks.
• Floating to similar units may be required.
• EPIC charting system used.
• Collaborate with PT and care management to plan discharge from admission.
• Complete mandatory education during orientation.
• Weekend/holiday time-off requests require pre-approval.
• Self-scheduling used, schedules set 6 weeks in advance.
• No smoking or leaving premises during shift.
• First-time travelers with 2+ years welcome.
• Local candidates accepted at reduced pay rate.
• Must reside at least 50 miles from facility for travel rate.
• Previous employees must be separated at least 1 year to return as traveler.
• Facility is Level II Trauma and Level II Stroke Center expanding with 18 beds.

• Patient population includes post-surgical, post-stroke, CHF, total joints, hip/femur fractures, and general med-surg patients
• Non-telemetry unit; patients occasionally have IVs and require lab draws
• Patient ratio of 1:5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM
• Every third weekend required with holiday block coverage
• Floating to similar units within the hospital may be required
• EPIC charting system used
• Work collaboratively with physical therapy and care management teams to plan patient discharge from time of admission
• Must complete all organizational mandatory education and modules during orientation
• Weekend and holiday time-off requests must be pre-approved before joining the team
• Self-scheduling is used, though schedules are created 6 weeks in advance, which may limit flexibility for incoming travelers
• No smoking or leaving hospital premises during shift
• First-time travelers with 2+ years of experience are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced pay rate
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Previous employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Facility is a Level II Trauma and Level II Stroke Center currently expanding with 18 additional beds
