American Traveler is hiring a Child and Adolescent Psychiatric RN with a MA RN license and at least 2 years of experience for an evening shift assignment.

The role covers direct psychiatric nursing care in a Behavioral Health unit, with a 16-bed facility and staffing that may include a charge/med RN, an admission/discharge RN, and MHC support. The position operates at a satellite site and follows a 13-week contract.

Responsibilities

• Behavioral Health unit specializing in child and adolescent psychiatric care.
• 16-bed unit typically staffed up to 12 patients.
• Staffing ratios vary based on census, generally 2 RNs per shift with 1 RN overnight.
• Team structure typically includes a charge/med RN and an admission/discharge RN, supported by mental health counselors (MHCs).
• Evening shift schedule (5x8 hours, 15:00-23:30).
• Every other weekend scheduling required.
• 13-week contract length.
• Provide direct psychiatric nursing care to child and adolescent patients.
• Responsible for admissions, discharges, and medication management duties depending on shift role.
• Work collaboratively with mental health counselors to maintain safe staffing ratios.
• Position located at a satellite site separate from the main hospital.
