Job summary

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center is seeking experienced Registered Nurses for FirstChoice mobile staffing across MercyOne facilities. This part-time, 12-hour day shift role offers premium pay and maximum scheduling flexibility, with assignments across multiple hospital locations in the region.

Ideal candidates hold an accredited nursing degree, current RN license, and 18+ months of acute care experience in Med‑Surg, Tele or PCU, with 2+ years in other specialties.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Valid RN licensure in applicable state(s).
• Minimum 18 months of recent clinical experience for Med Surg, Tele and PCU.
• Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience for Critical Care, Surgical, Maternal, ED and Behavioral Health.
• Must maintain credentials per specialty (e.g., ACLS, TNCC, etc); BLS/ACLS/PALS through American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Float across the hospital and/or multiple locations/regions.
• Apply standard elements of professional practice: Assess, Identify outcomes, Plan, Implement, Evaluate.
• Act independently within licensed scope and experience.
• Delegate, decide, and be accountable for outcomes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to improve quality and outcomes.
• Adapt to new ideas and manage competing priorities.
