Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a blended Pediatrics/Adult Women's Med-Surg unit in Illinois. Requires IL RN license, BLS, PALS, and EPIC experience, with a 12-hour day schedule and a Level 2 Trauma setting.

The role features a 20-bed unit, approximately 11 patient census, and a floating pool managed by a central staffing office. EPIC migration begins 3/21/2025; no休 allowed during conversion.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• BLS and PALS certifications required
• Experience with EPIC required within the past year

Responsibilities

• 22-bed blended Medical-Surgical unit caring for pediatric and adult female patients
• Acute care setting at a Level 2 Trauma facility
• Average census of approximately 11 patients, pediatric census may rise during RSV season
• Patient ratio goal of up to 5 patients per RN depending on census and staffing
• Core staffing of 3 RNs per shift with floats managed by centralized hospital staffing
• Agency RNs float first when census is down and must care for adults too
• 12-hour day shifts
• EPIC EMR system in use, with EPIC conversion starting 3/21/2025
• Provide nursing care to mixed pediatric and adult female Med-Surg patients
• No RTO between 3/21 and 4/18 due to EPIC conversion
• Cancellation policy allows up to 3 shifts canceled per 13-week contract or 2 shifts per shorter contracts
