Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks an experienced Pediatric Surgical RN with Level 1 Trauma experience to float across multiple acute care units in a children's hospital setting.

The role requires active Oklahoma RN license or eNLC, BLS/PALS per AHA, 1+ year RN experience, and a Nursing degree (ADN required; BSN preferred). Expect 12-hour days, 36 hours per week, with 50-mile radius residency requirements and strict onboarding timelines.

Qualifications

  • RN license in Oklahoma or current multistate compact (eNLC)
  • BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
  • Level 1 Trauma experience required
  • Experience with trach care, high flow, and infusion therapy
  • Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practices, and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Pediatric Surgical unit within a Level 1 Trauma children's hospital
  • Day shift, 12-hour shifts from 0645-1915, 3 days per week (36 hours)
  • Float to all acute care units within children's including surgical, behavioral health, medical specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), hem/onc, step down, and cardiac peds units
  • May float to NICU but only for low-acuity feeder/grower babies, not traditional NICU care
  • Requires experience with tracheostomy care, high flow oxygen therapy, and infusion therapy
  • Provide direct nursing care to a diverse pediatric patient population across multiple acute care specialties
  • Administer medications, initiate and monitor IV infusions and blood products
  • Collaborate with physicians on diagnostic procedures and treatments
  • Communicate care plans with patients and families, including discharge planning
  • Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
  • Facility enforces strict compliance deadlines; onboarding requirements must be completed promptly with no push starts allowed
  • Travelers may extend contracts once for a maximum of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
