Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Pediatric RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring MO/KS or compact RN licensure and prior travel nursing experience.

The role entails caring for pediatric patients in a hospital setting on a 3x12-hour night schedule with 10–13 weeks length, and includes floating between campuses in Kansas City area. EPIC EHR is preferred; diabetes, neurology, pulmonology, and tracheostomy care exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in MO/Kansas or compact at time of consideration.
• BLS (AHA only; RQI not accepted) required.
• PALS (AHA) required at time of consideration.
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required.
• Pediatric nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Nursing care in pediatric unit within a pediatric hospital setting.
• Night shift 19:00–07:30, 3x12 hours with varying days and weekend coverage.
• 10–13 week contract length.
• Floating between main campus and sister facility in Overland Park, KS (~12 miles).
• EPIC EHR experience preferred.
• Preferred exposure to diabetes, neurology, pulmonology, and tracheostomy care.
• Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients across varying conditions and acuities.
• Campus is smoke-free; nicotine testing conducted.
• Medication/dosage competency test in first week (100% pass, up to 3 attempts).
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate.

• BLS certification (AHA only; RQI certifications not accepted)
• PALS certification (AHA) required at time of consideration
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
• Pediatric nursing experience required
• Date of birth and Social Security number required for consideration
• Two supervisor-level professional references completed within the last 12 months required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Pediatrics unit within a pediatric hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30 with varying days and required weekend coverage
• 10-13 week contract length
• Floating required between the main campus and a sister facility in Overland Park, KS, approximately 12 miles away
• EPIC EHR experience preferred
• Preferred clinical exposure to diabetes, neurology, pulmonology, and tracheostomy care
• Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients across varying conditions and acuities
• Facility is a smoke-free and nicotine-free campus; nicotine testing is conducted
• Medication/dosage competency test administered in the first week, requiring a 100% pass rate with up to three attempts
• Candidates contracted for the main campus may begin with a pending Kansas license if documentation of application is provided
