Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Burn ICU position in Ohio, requiring a BSN and current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications at a Magnet facility.

The role covers care for adult and pediatric burn patients in a high-acuity surgical ICU, with a 1:2 nurse-patient ratio and a 7:00 PM–7:00 AM night shift. Strong emphasis on critical care skills and infection prevention is noted.

Qualifications

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand.
• BSN required for Magnet status.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Burn ICU (BICU) of a Magnet-designated hospital.
• Care for adult and pediatric burn patients with diabetes, cardiac issues, psych concerns, and complex wounds.
• 1:2 patient ratio.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM).
• Every other weekend required.
• Floating to competent units during low census periods.
• Epic charting system used; experience preferred but not required.
• Provide critical care nursing to burn patients in a surgical ICU setting.
• Support infection prevention protocols including isolation precautions and PPE use.

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand
• BSN required for consideration due to Magnet status
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required in hand; TNCC preferred
• Experience with vasopressor medications, sedation, and ventilator management required
• Experience with arterial lines and wound care required
• Skills in IV therapy, central and PICC line management, and blood product administration required
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and ETT/NT suctioning required
• Experience managing dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction required
• Burn experience preferred
