Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric ICU RN for a night shift assignment in Oklahoma City. The role requires an Oklahoma compact license or state RN licensure and PALS, with at least 1 year of RN experience.

You will work 12-hour night shifts (36 hours per week, 3 days). Travel assignments may extend up to 26 weeks with a 6-month separation before reapplying, and benefits include housing allowance and travel reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Active RN license required (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact)
• Current BLS and PALS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

• Work in the Pediatric ICU of a hospital setting
• CVICU and NICU experience preferred
• Level 1 trauma experience preferred
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, 3 days per week
• Blocked schedule available with weekend scheduling
• Provide nursing care to pediatric ICU patients with conditions ranging from simple to complex
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and treatments, and note changes in physician orders
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Monitor physiological data and intervene as necessary
• Administer medications and manage IV infusions and blood products
• Communicate care plans with patients and families, including at discharge
• Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Full DOB and SSN required for consideration
• Credentialing and compliance deadlines are strictly enforced with no start date flexibility
• Travelers may extend once up to a total of 26 weeks, with a 6-month separation required before reapplying
• 30-day written notice required for early cancellation or assignment termination
