Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a PCU/Telemetry role in a corrections oncology environment in Columbus, OH. Active OH or compact RN license and EPIC charting experience are required.

This travel assignment features 12-hour day shifts, a 16-week duration, and a 36-hour work week with a tax-free stipend to be determined. Locals are welcome to apply on the same terms as travelers.

Qualifications

• Active Ohio or compact RN license required at time of consideration.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required.
• EPIC charting experience required.
• Medical-Surgical/Telemetry skills required.
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias.
• Willingness to float to various units, including oncology and corrections.
• Two professional references, with at least one from a formal leadership role.
• Ohio fingerprinting promptly after contract signing.
• Former employees must have a break of six months before consideration.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients in a locked PCU/corrections unit.
• Provide care to oncology, hematology, and various medical-surgical diagnoses.
• Nurse to patient ratio 1:3 (PCU) or 1:4-5 (medical-surgical).
• Float between Oncology Medical-Surgical and PCU units as needed.
• 12-hour day/night rotating shifts with 4-week scheduling review.
• Weekend shifts as required by unit needs.
• Use Pyxis and EPIC for documentation and medication administration.
• Manage central and peripheral lines and blood products; interpret ABGs.
• Provide cardiac monitoring, IV insulin protocols, renal failure care, and respiratory interventions.
• Maintain staff safety in a secure environment.
