Job summary

Tidepoint Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Travel RN - PACU to join our team in the Washington, DC area. Shift is Days, 7a-7p on a 12x3 schedule, 36 hours per week, with Saturday weekend on-call requirements.

The assignment runs for 13 weeks with additional on-call coverage as needed. Ideal candidates have DC RN license, 1–2 years ICU and Level I trauma center PACU experience, recent PACU/Preop and at least 2 years ICU.

Qualifications

• DC license and 1–2 years ICU and Level I trauma PACU experience.
• Recent PACU/Preop experience plus at least 2 years ICU experience.
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• BSN desired; CPAN, TNCC and CCRN are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Monitor post-operative patients’ recovery and update medical team as needed.
• Record vital signs and update charting (EMR).
• Observe for anesthesia-related side effects and manage pain and nausea.
• Educate patients and families on post-surgery care.

Tidepoint Healthcare Staffing is hiring a Travel RN - PACU

Shift: Days / 7a-7p, 12x3, 36 hrs/week. Saturday and weekend on call shifts
Length: 13 weeks

On call required:

Saturday day shift is a worked day 7a-730p – team members, including Travelers are to choose a Saturday when completing their 8 week schedule – required for travelers is 1-2 per 8 week period

On Call shifts for PACU are Saturday 7p-730a, Sunday 7a-730p and 7p-730a

Travelers are asked to choose 2 day and 2 night shifts in an 8 week period

Requirements:

• DC license
• 1-2 years recent ICU and/OR Level I trauma center PACU experience
• Recent PACU/Preop experience and minimum 2 years ICU experience
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
• PALS, BLS & ACLS
• BSN - Highly desired
• CPAN, TNCC, CCRN - highly desirable

Other Details:

• Monitor post-operative patients' levels of recovery and consciousness from anesthesia and provide updates to the medical team as needed
• Obtain and record patients' vital signs
• Observe patients for signs of side effects of anesthesia medication
• Treat pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms of anesthesia and administer medication as prescribed
• Update charting (EMR), patient files, and medical records
• Educate patients and their families on post-surgery care and answer any questions
