Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU travel assignment in Pomona, CA. The role requires CA licensure, 2-3 years PACU/critical care experience with adult and pediatric patients, and an ADN.

Day shift, 3x12-hour schedule with start times 0730–1030, on-call within 30 minutes for 4th shift, and pre-op starts as early as 0600. Magnet hospital with comprehensive benefits and orientation included.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required in hand.
• ADN required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• 2-3 years of PACU/critical care experience with adult and pediatric populations required.
• Pre-op experience required.
• Proficiency monitoring vital signs, level of consciousness, and post-anesthesia pain management.
• Skilled in administering and titrating medications including pain management and anesthesia reversal agents.
• Ability to recognize and respond to airway complications.
• Competent in starting and managing IV lines including fluid and medication administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia care for patients recovering from major surgeries including general, vascular, neuro, orthopedic, and trauma procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EHR.
• Support department with timely patient assessments and interventions.
• Adapt to 3x12-hour day shifts with on-call coverage (30 minutes response).
