American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Cardiovascular OR RN with perioperative and pediatric cardiac surgery experience for a 13-week assignment. Cerner EMR proficiency is required.

The role requires an active Florida RN license, AHA BLS and PALS certifications, and strong pediatric perioperative skills. Experience with CPB and pediatric congenital cases is highly valued.

Qualifikationen

• Cardiac surgery and complex cardiac procedures experience preferred, including CPB.

Aufgaben

• Provide perioperative care for pediatric and congenital cardiac patients undergoing complex procedures.
• Scrub and circulating duties for pediatric/congenital cardiac surgeries.
• Prepare OR and ensure instruments, implants, and supplies are available.
• Support cardiopulmonary bypass procedures and coordinate with perfusion team.
• Maintain sterile technique and accurate documentation.

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Cardiovascular OR RN with perioperative and pediatric cardiac surgery experience for a 13-week assignment requiring Cerner EMR proficiency.

Requirements

• Active FL RN license or multistate eNLC compact license in good standing
• AHA BLS and AHA PALS certification required
• ACLS, CNOR, and CPN certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of perioperative nursing experience required
• Pediatric experience required
• Cardiac surgery and complex cardiac procedure experience strongly preferred, including cardiopulmonary bypass
• Pediatric or adult congenital cardiac experience preferred
• Skills in ASD/VSD repair, PDA ligation, Tetralogy of Fallot repair, Transposition of the Great Arteries repair, and valve repair/replacement preferred
• Cardiothoracic robotic surgery experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Pediatric Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) unit at a pediatric hospital
• Perioperative care for pediatric and adult congenital cardiac patients undergoing complex cardiac procedures
• Day shift, Monday-Friday, 5x8 schedule (0700-1530), with possible 4x10 shifts depending on case load
• Requires alternating 1st-call and 2nd-call rotation (one week 1st call, next week 2nd call until the next morning)
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Perform scrub and/or circulating duties for complex pediatric and congenital cardiac procedures
• Prepare the OR and ensure cardiac instruments, equipment, implants, and supplies are available
• Support procedures involving cardiopulmonary bypass and coordinate with perfusion team
• Maintain sterile technique, surgical counts, time-outs, and accurate documentation
• Anticipate intraoperative needs and respond appropriately during complex or emergent cases
• Collaborate closely with cardiac surgeons, anesthesia, perfusion, surgical technologists, and nursing staff
• Support quality improvement, infection prevention, and patient safety initiatives
