Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) role in the United States. Active PA or compact RN license and open heart surgery experience are required, with CABG, TAVR, valve replacement, and robotic procedures preferred.

The position is in a Level 1 Trauma Center OR, with 1:1 patient ratios, Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, and call obligations. Travel rate eligibility applies, including housing and licensure reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (PA or compact) required.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and CPI/HWC.
• Minimum 2 years of experience.
• Proficient/advanced skills in open heart surgery, CABG (on and off pump), TAVR, open valve replacement, thoracic lung procedures, and robotics.
• Prior open heart experience required.
• Robotic lung experience preferred.
• Charge RN and Level 1 trauma experience preferred.
• PA-specific background clearances including Child Abuse History Clearance, DHS fingerprinting, FBI fingerprinting, and PATCH state police clearance.

Responsibilities

• Level 1 Trauma Center operating room setting with 22 beds.
• 1:1 patient ratios covering all ages.
• Monday through Friday schedule, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM shift.
• Call requirements include weekday 3P-7A and weekend 7-7.
• Every other weekend hours as needed.
• Floats to main OR as needed.
• Uses EPIC EHR system.
• Perform surgical procedures across cardiovascular, ortho, gyne, OB, plastics, general, neuro, urology, breast, and podiatry.

• Weekend open-heart cases are limited to approximately 6-8 per year and weekday heart call is infrequently utilized
• Call coverage exists to ensure team availability for urgent open-heart cases
• Scrubs in blue color provided; no casual wear permitted
• Weekly orientation held on Mondays
• Must be 60 miles or greater from facility to be considered for travel rate
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full time
