American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVOR RN with cardiovascular, vascular, and robotic surgery experience for a hospital operating room in Cypress, Texas. The assignment runs 13 weeks with 40 hours per week and requires call coverage.

You will join an 11-room OR team, with a day shift schedule, and may float within the Surgery Department as needed, using advanced equipment including DaVinci robots and Hana beds.

Qualifications

Active RN license (TX or compact) required.
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
Minimum 1 year of CVOR experience required.
Must have experience with vascular and robotic surgical cases.
CNOR certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Work in an 11-room Operating Room within the Surgery Department.
Floating within the Surgery Department to other services as needed.

Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVOR RN with cardiovascular, vascular, and robotic surgery experience for a hospital operating room requiring call coverage.

Details

Work in an 11-room Operating Room within the Surgery Department
Day shift team includes 1 Charge RN, 10 RNs, 10 CSTs, 2 schedulers, 3 anesthesia techs, and 2 orderlies, with a smaller night shift team
Schedule options include 8s or 10s, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM
Patient ratio of 1:1
Uses a wide range of specialized equipment including Hana beds, Axis and Trios beds, Levo positioner, Rosa, Mazor, three Davinci robots, Stryker and Storz towers, ENT and spine/neuro microscopes, cobolators, NIMs, ORA machine, eye microscope, tourniquets, Hybrid room, Medistem, Vasoview, cell saver, perfusion pump, and ECMO machine
Uses Expanse EMR
Floating required within the Surgery Department to general, ortho, ENT, GYN, podiatry, urology, plastics, pain, or eye cases
Call required, including weekday call from end of shift until 7 AM the next morning and 24-hour weekend call, typically one weekday and one weekend per month

Requirements

Active RN license (TX or compact) required
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
Minimum 1 year of recent CVOR experience required
Must have experience performing vascular and robotic surgical cases
CNOR certification preferred but not required
Candidates with endovascular or moderate sedation experience preferred
Candidates comfortable performing ortho, ENT, GYN, and general surgery cases preferred
No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

Perform circulating and scrub duties for a wide range of cardiovascular and vascular procedures including CABG with or without valves, pericardial window, AAA and endovascular AA repair, ECMO, convergent maze, Impella balloon pump insertion, fistula creation, all types of bypass, carotid and femoral endarterectomy, VATS (robotic, lap, or open), robotic esophagectomy, BKA/AKA, temporal artery bypass, thrombectomy/embolectomy, and peritoneal dialysis catheter insertion or removal
Ideal candidates are hard workers who are willing to help wherever needed and work well with others
Navy blue scrubs required for RNs
Facility follows specific count, attendance, and call policies
Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
