Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room travel assignment with Level I trauma experience. You will work 12-hour nights (7p–7a), 36 hours per week, in a busy OR with diverse case types, and may float between OR units within the same facility.

Requirements include active RN license in TN or compact, a minimum of 2 years OR experience, prior travel in a Level I trauma facility, and vaccination or valid exemption by start date. Local candidates may be considered.

• Prior travel experience in a Level I trauma facility required.
• Experience in general surgeries preferred.
• Completion of full COVID vaccine series or valid exemption required by start date.

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties in a high-acuity Level I trauma OR.
• May float between OR units but not between facility locations.
• No call requirements.
• Occasional late stays required, typically not exceeding one hour past scheduled end time.

Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring at least 2 years of OR experience and prior travel experience in a Level I trauma facility.

Details

• OR Float Pool position within a 17-bed inpatient/outpatient OR and 5 procedural rooms
• Level I trauma facility serving adult patients only (no peds)
• Case types include neuro, trauma, general, ortho, GYN, urology, ENT, plastics, cardiothoracic, vascular, transplant (liver, renal, pancreas), robotic, hybrid rooms (cysto, bronch, lead extraction), ambulatory ortho, burn, and hepatic-biliary
• Patient population includes open heart, transplant, trauma, and neuro cases
• 12-hour night shift, 7p-7a, 36 hours per week
• Schedule may include Saturday/Sunday shifts with no guaranteed block schedule
• May float between OR units but not between facility locations
• No call requirements
• Occasional late stay shifts required, typically not exceeding one hour past scheduled end time

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties in a high-acuity Level I trauma OR
• Limited time off approved during the contract, with expectation to work 2 of 3 holidays
• No more than 5-7 days of time off can be approved during the assignment
• 26-week assignment length only, shorter durations will not be considered
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate
• Radius rule of 75 miles applies for travel rate eligibility

The $2,409 weekly pay shown in this posting, along with related figures, corresponds to the higher end of this range. Weekly travel pay includes tax-free stipends per IRS guidelines. Weekly local pay is fully taxable and therefore lower due to additional employer-paid taxes and related costs.
