Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Open Heart/CVOR position, requiring recent cardiac surgical experience and GA or Compact RN licensure. Open Heart/CVOR work within a hospital setting with 10-hour shifts and rotation of call duties.

The role requires a GA or Compact RN license, BLS, and 2+ years in cardiac OR/CVOR; Surgical Tech certification is a plus. Generous housing allowances and travel/licensure reimbursements are provided.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (GA or Compact).
• AHA BLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in cardiac OR/CVOR specialty required.
• Certification in Surgical Technology (NBSTA or NCCT) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Open Heart OR / CVOR department within a hospital setting
• 10-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• No block scheduling
• Call requirement of 6 days per month, including 1-2 calls per week and 24-hour weekend call once every 6 weeks
• Must work 2 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, or New Year''s Day) and 1 minor holiday (Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year''s Eve)
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered
• Returning staff who previously worked permanently at the facility must have a 2-year break before returning as a non-local traveler
• RTO must be requested upfront prior to offer acceptance and cannot be requested afterward
