Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Travel RN for an ambulatory surgery unit in Indianapolis, Indiana. The role focuses on Pre-Op and Phase II Recovery with 3–5 years of experience and ACLS/PALS certifications.

Shifts are four 10-hour days, with a mix of 10:00 AM–8:30 PM and 9:00 AM–7:30 PM, weekends rarely required. Eligible candidates hold an Indiana RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS, with a SSN required for consideration.

• Provide direct care to ambulatory surgery patients across Pre-Op and Phase II recovery
• Maintain patient safety with 1:1 in Pre-Op and 3:1 in Post-Op
• Utilize Phase 2 equipment and Epic EMR in daily workflow
• Adhere to unit dress code and scrub protocols
• Schedule includes four 10-hour days per week; some days 9:00–7:30 or 10:00–8:30, no weekend shifts unless needed

Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pre-Op/Post-Op RN for an ambulatory surgery unit requiring 3-5 years of experience and ACLS/PALS certification.

Details

• Ambulatory surgery department covering Pre-Op and Phase II Recovery
• 20-bed unit caring for all types of surgery patients including general, colorectal, GYN, urology, uro-gyn, bariatric, and ortho cases
• Patient ratios of 1:1 in Pre-Op and 3:1 in Post-Op
• Uses Phase 2 equipment and Epic EMR
• Schedule of four 10-hour day shifts per week, typically 10:00 AM-8:30 PM with some 9:00 AM-7:30 PM shifts, days of week vary
• Minimal call required, no more than 3-4 shifts per 6-week schedule
• Possible late stay Monday-Friday if needed
• No weekend shifts unless needed
• No floating required

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license required

• 3-5 years of recent experience in Pre-Op and Post-Op required

• Fast-paced environment requiring strong teamwork skills
• Hospital-provided scrubs; outside jackets not permitted, must follow procedural area dress code
• First-day instructions and any required education modules will be provided by the unit educator after offer
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius accepted at a reduced bill rate
